Of course, it's second best when compared to being held and cuddled, but it's a close second when the belly is full, the diaper is dry, and the sleep has been sufficient (and Mommy and Daddy enjoy the free hands for just a few moments too).
It is our hope that this blog is a way for both family and friends to feel connected to our lives as we live in Bethel, Alaska. We named this blog "Tundra Walking" because of the joy that we feel every time we venture out onto the tundra; whether it be for berry picking with our family, hunting, playing with our dog, or going for a picnic, walking on the tundra has become an important part of our lives. Hope you enjoy! -The Andersons

Life Lately
Too many pictures, but I just can't seem to choose. Plus, Oma and Opa are here, so it has been a very exciting week!
Like father like son
After his first bath at home
Oma
And Opa! First meeting of Zeke
Superbowl party 2013!
Lots of snuggle time
At times our little man becomes cross-eyed, and it's oh so cute
Zeke found his thumb and fist to suck on this past week!
Our growing boy
Three weeks old!
First bottle feeding by Dad was a success! Zeke took to it with no problem. Something less to worry about when Mom goes back to work in a few months.
Big boy outfit
We went on our first "date" since Zeke was born...a snow machine ride! Oma and Opa stayed home with Zeke while we enjoyed a little fresh Alaskan air out on the tundra. Short but sweet and good for us too.
They have the same expression in this picture : )
Moby! Such a help when you need free hands and a baby nearby
Life is changed. It's different, but for the better. Each day is flying by with greater speed, and our little guy is changing more and more with each new day. It's so fun to see bits and pieces of his personality come out, and I'm sure it will only grow with the weeks to come. It's hard to believe Zekes age will not be determined by weeks anymore but by months come Sunday! Almost a month has gone by already.
Oma and Opa have fallen in love with Zeke, as expected. It will be interesting to see if he can nap in his Pack n Play or swing once they leave. It has been so good to have extra hands around, not only to help but also to love our little Zeke. Papa will be coming immediately after Oma and Opa leave, and we're excited for more visitors!
